I'm specifically interested in the frustrations and pain points of planning a trip of any sort, be it a family holiday/ adventure trip/ business meetings/ conferences/ following a band/ chasing surf.
Does anything else frustrate you? What is hard? What do you wish you didn't have to do? Should some action be quicker/ easier/ cheaper/ not exist? Is it deciding where to go, what to do, dates, making bookings, packing, not speaking the language or any other issue?
My main issue is usually deciding on dates, and then making sure I can find a reasonable flight and hotel on those dates.
It would be great if I can just say "I want to go on a trip for 5 days", and the system throws me a bunch of destinations with the cheapest/best flight and hotel.
Ideally this system would take weekends in to account as well, so when I say 5 days, it will try to book a weekend so I only need to take 3 days of annual leave.
I hate checking dates. I mean that check date of fight and date of hotel book and all tickets etc.
What's hard is comparing flight prices over the whole year. As some mentioned, it'd be nice to know what time of year is the cheapest/easiest to fly there. It's hard to compare flights across airlines in March compared to November for example

1.I find it hard to find cheap flight tickets for the dates when I want to travel.
2.It would be nice to know the things to be careful/scams to avoid when visiting a destination.
3.Visa rules and process when applying to visit a country.
4.List of trust able resources available in the destination country i.e where to get SIM cards? Cost of SIM cards? Good companies to hire cars from? Taxi companies to use for airport pick up and drops? etc
5.Making accommodation searching shorter. I don't want to spend hours on Airbnb, Hotels and similar sites to find the perfect place to stay.
6.Some of the common custom to be known before travelling like tipping when eating at restaurants, not smoking on the streets etc.
These are some of the issues I faced when I traveled a few weeks back.
This is my frustration, written up and explained here;

I wish I didn't have to look after my 3 year old son on the trip. It was a contributing factor to our recent nightmare of a family "vacation".
