What's your experience with revenue from ads?

I'm curios what other people got from ads, maybe from free versions or situations like that.

    Where are you running ads?

I run a podcast and sold a good amount of ads through there ($10,000ish)?

I also ran an anagram solver site that brought in about $1,000/month at peak from AdSense.

Making money with ads only works if you have a lot of scale (you're looking at $1-2 CPMs) or you have access to a very specific audience that businesses are also trying to get in front of (brand deals / brand awareness dollars)

Honest question - I'm curious how an anagram solver site gets approved for AdSense, due to what I would imagine is a pretty limited amount of text content on the site? The reason I ask is because I'm having a very difficult time getting my project approved by AdSense.

We had a lot of pages like "Words with Q", "Words with Z". I'm not sure if this would pass today, this was back in 2013/2014.

It was basically a tool people used to cheat on Words with Friends or Scrabble...

What's your project about that's limiting in text?

Interesting! I actually have a different issue - my site essentially aggregates data to automatically build lists, so Google rejects me for having "auto-generated pages or pages with little to no original content" :(

Sounds like the algo got smarter! In that case my page probably wouldn’t be approved. Why don’t you look at connecting with other ad exchanges or ad networks that might be more lax?
