For something a bit different to the 'official' IH meet-up, I propose starting something with a slightly looser format:
Meet once every 1-2 months in a pub
Drink beers
Talk about what we're working on, try and help each other
Also beer
I've seen this kind of format work pretty well in the brand strategy community. My mate runs something called GroupThink where they meet for 'Planner Pints' once a month, very popular now.
Thoughts?
Call it 'Indie Beers'

Created a Doodle - check the days that work for you in Sept/Oct :)
Looking forward to the next one! Apologies for having to bail at the last minute Charlie.
1
All good Matt, will let you know about next one :)
2
Guys, hope you had a good time! Something came up for me and I wasn't able to join... See you next time!
1
It was great fun. Details on next one to follow fairly soon Matis.
2
Should be alright with me as well, couldn't add myself to the doodle haha. I won't be around for too long as I need to get back to Brighton at a sensible time...

How is the tech/dev scene in Malaysia?
1
All I can say is that it's growing at a breakneck pace. And this is common in South East Asia mainly because we have access to many information and case studies without the need to break things by ourselves.
Anyway, I can't give you the full picture because I'm not actively participating in the tech/dev scene here in Malaysia :)

Thanks for the link @csallen. I look forward to helping as a community ambassador in Denver.
1
@csallen I filled out that form ages ago and never heard back - so just did a few meetups anyway. Am I not invited to be an ambassador because I know that Starcraft is a poor man's Age of Empires II?
1
Weird, somehow never invited you. Invite sent!
1
Me too!
2
We've got a ton of ambassadors already in Bangalore and a ton more applicants, too. But if the people who are already ambassadors there don't host regular meetups, I'll appoint more ambassadors. Also, feel free to host meetups whenever you'd like, ambassador or not! 👍
London, UK. Never see any meetups posted for London - surely there must be more of us?!

Okay 4 of us seem free on Wednesday 19th September (1 week after the official IH meetup).
Good enough for me, for now.
Shall I suggest a pub around Shoreditch from 7.30?
Also, speak up if you haven't done the Doodle yet :)
Cheers,
Charlie
Wednesday 19th works for me!
Could meet at the Water Poet? Easy access to both Shoreditch High Street overground and Liverpool Street station.
Sounds good to me. @Matis @opensilence thoughts?
