100 Days of Tech Startup

Hey everyone 👋

I want to present this challenge that I've been following.

It's called 100 Days Of Tech Startup and is inspired by the Twitter trend; 100 Days Of Code.
The title is self-explanatory: You need to lunch a tech startup in 100 days 😎

A friend and I came up with this challenge, and I used it to build Sigmetic.

I'm currently on day 93, so almost about to finish, and I'm actually surprised how much one can get done in only 100 days if the goals are really clear-cut and time-dependent.

Somewhere down the road, a couple up other people joined along, and we currently have 4 active startups following our challenge, and a set of people joining the community to follow along and participate in discussions 🤩

I've personally gained A LOT from this challenge, including some of the benefits:

  • Motivation by gamification: The challenge makes some of the hard parts a bit more fun.
  • Little time to reflect: This may seem counterintuitive, but having very restricted time to execute on, actually prevents you from getting "stuck" in too much (limiting) reflection.
  • Sharing your progress and learning from others: The advantages here are obvious, but especially comparing yourself at a specific day of the challenge, to others on the same day, is giving an extra dimension of perspective.
    ...And many others.

What do you think about this idea?

  • Would you find it motivating?
  • Would this idea of gamification and the layer of competition work for you?
  • Do you think it's unnecessarily restricted?
  • Anything else?

If you find this interesting, you are very free to try it out, or just join our Slack channel.

I love this! It helps keep things in perspective as well. I thought I was moving too slow at first but I'm only on day 45 and makes me feel much better about where I'm at.

Also, the set time allows you to basically create a sprint for your startup journey. You have to think about what is possible in 100 days and hyperfocus on that.

Totally happy to hear that! 😁😊
      You got the point exactly!

Prentus looks really cool, btw 👏
Impressive that you got so far in just 45 days!!

Hey! Nice to see your discussion here, I think we talked on PH or somewhere else. I am following 100 Days of Code for learning Rust myself. And for my products I am following daily progress all the time. I am posting on PH, IH, Makerlog, Pioneer and anywhere else I can. 100 DOTS is a perfect idea for people like us. Love it!

Yeah, I remember we talked somewhere else, but I can't remember if it was on PH...
But great! I'm happy to hear that 😁

Great idea, me too i'm into my 2nd month of building my tech startup !
The hardest part I find while building the tech startup is getting traction and the marketing.
But i'm already working on my marketing plan, i'll share the results with you here.
