Once again, we were overwhelmed by all the feedback and traction we received. That's why I want to share our insights with my Indie Fam.👋

Stats:

From Wednesday to Sunday we got over 4k unique website visitors.

Website-traffic

Over 500 sign-ups have resulted from the website visitors. This corresponds to a conversion rate from website visitors to signups of about 13%.

Signups

The overall result

There are now over 6k people using Type Studio, and we just hit our first milestone of 10k ARR (entirely bootstrapped).😻

Conclusion

Launching on Product Hunt is incredibly valuable because the community is super helpful and gives a lot of feedback on your product. If you have any questions about Product Hunt or our launch, just shoot me a message.

9% bounce rate is incredible. I’m wondering how would you measure the success of your site experience and what’s your tricks to ensure people stay surfing your site?

    1. 1

I believe a clean design and not overloaded content helps for a good website. We have tried to bring some humor in some places. Microfot released Clarify a few months ago which is the same as Hotjar but free. With it, you can look at records of your website visitors and make very good optimizations.

Love the feedback! Thank you, Dan 🙏

How did you get to upvote your plugin so much? Impressive.

    1. 1

It's actually a tool, not a plugin :) I guess the most important thing is to build a community around your product. And I think a good product video helps a lot too.

      1. 1

Yes, the tool sounds more venerable. Let's call it a tool then ;)

How long did it take you to build a community around it?
        Can you share your hacks?

I basically created an account on June 7th, 2020 and since then I have been on Product Hunt every single day. I probably spent way too many hours there. :D Somehow it comes naturally when you check out many products, upvote & comment on them, and connect with the people behind the products. So probably not a secrete source but rather the much time I spend there :D

          1. 2

Ah hah! The magic is simple. Hang out there for a year, upvote other products, get more followers and boom, them will upvote yours!

            Thanks Michael. Makes sense.

Congratulations Michael! Your persitence is truly inspirational!

Thank you Porush! We will continue to put in the work.

    Nice launch Michael!

Why didn't you launch on PH earlier? Was it because you were perfecting the product, building an audience, or something else?

    1. 1

The first time we launched our product on Product Hunt was on July 7th, 2020. We prepared this launch for like a month. The other launches were releases of new features inside our main product.

      1. 1

        That totally makes sense.

Congrats for the launch Michael, great job 💪
Just curious about the percentage of paying vs free users that signed up from PH 😀

    1. 2

I think this is hard to measure because our approach is to offer Type Studio with almost all features for free, but you have an upload limit every month. Only when people use it a lot they convert to paid users. But there were about 10 who bought directly.
