Ask me to review your product

Hi guys, if you have an amazing product and would like to get a review on my blog https://callmefred.com, feel free to ask. If I love what you're developing, I'll review the product in detail, incl. a video walkthrough posted on my Youtube channel. It's not a paid guest post offer. There's nothing to pay (I just need access to your premium plan if needed) but I don't guarantee reviews, I'll only present the products which I truly love. Cheers. Frédérick

We are building a community platform for creators, brands and businesses to help them build and grow their community.
Alternative to Circle.so and Mighty Network.

Solid product! I'm also building a similar product called Playgroup (https://playgroup.community/). I'd love to chat :)

      1. 1

Thanks a lot for the feedback video.

Hey Fred. A fresh pair of eyes is always very welcome, thank you for offering.
I'm building Polygonjs which helps creating interactive 3D experiences for the web, without coding.

    It's mostly:

    • for coders needing a tool that gives higher level control than libraries like threejs
    • or for designers interested in interactive 3D.

And the editor is fully node-based, offering a control that used to be reserved to high end visual effect software only, but is now available in a browser.

    1. 1

It's a bit too techy for me to give a fair informed opinion.

      1. 1

ha, that's totally fair. Thanks a lot for taking a look either way, I appreciate.

    1. 1

Same kind of concept as Frase / Surfer I presume. Any special angle?

      1. 1

It's gonna be loads cheaper 😅

        1. 1

          Well... not very sustainable :-)

    Hey Fred,

Thanks a lot for doing this. We are building a social audio community app. Think Reddit for Audio.

We believe voice is a more personal medium vs text and still easier to create than video. Would love to see what you think.

    Check us out here:
    website: https://app.nooble.xyz/
    ios app: https://apps.apple.com/in/app/nooble/id1568575709?ref=producthunt&at=1000l6eA

    1. 1

A pity you can't use the product on the web... I'm not really keen in downloading another app.

      1. 1

Ah!!! I see. Alternatively, you can try out our webapp here: https://app.nooble.xyz/

It is not the entire product experience but you will get an idea.

Thanks a lot, in any case. :D

I'd love to get some extra eyes and feedback on https://contrax.app/. It's a simple web app (PWA) to track your subscriptions and contracts. It can alert you for a nearing deadline over email and (web) push notifications.

The main goal is to help people not to miss cancellation deadlines - which could incur lots of extra cost in some cases, e.g. when a promotional subscription period ends.

    1. 2

Not sure it deserves a dedicated app, especially if you have to enter all the data manually. Such a product should be seamlessly integrated with Stripe, Paypal + other subscription enablers. There's no point asking users to fill out a form for each subscription.

      1. 1

Thanks a lot sharing your opinion! Addressing the points you raise:

        • Dedicated app: You can have a poor approximation with a Calendar, but that misses some nice features like cost summary and flexible automatic renewal ( e.g. when there is a cancellation deadline that does not match the expiration deadline, as in "you have to cancel 2 weeks before expiry" type of contracts)
        • Integration with payments: The first issue with that is privacy - I don't trust random apps on the internet with access to my payment history - particularly with much more access than strictly necessary - e.g. there are 5 relevant records out of 500. The second issue is that not all payments are there. People normally do not pay their car insurance, cell contract, gym membership or rent through Stripe or PayPal.
        • Manual entry: In my eyes, this is necessary inconvenience. What we've tried to do is to make it as little inconvenient as possible while preserving "power" features. E.g. creating/editing works completely offline and happens locally on your device - so no pauses/loading times.

At any rate - your feedback really helps me understand how users perceive the app - so thanks again!

Hey there! I'm Sam & I built Enrichly. It's a pay-as-you-go email enrichment tool for b2b direct dials. Perfect for freelance sales or lead gen pros.

Give it a try at app.enrichly.io/login

I’d love your thoughts on my microsaas https://www.submetrics.co/

      1. 1

Wow thank you for the in-depth video @callmefred! I actually heard you reviewed a Circle competitor. I'm also actually building a Circle competitor called Playgroup (my main project). Submetrics is a small side project I'm validating demand for before starting. I'd like your feedback on Playgroup if you have time. Here's the current landing page using version 1 of the UI https://playgroup.community/ and here is the new landing page using version 2 of the UI (Soon to launch) https://playgroup-landing.vercel.app/

        1. 2

Honestly, not much I can say, except "yet, another one". What motivated you to build it? Aren't there other topics you could approach in a more original way? How do you plan to compete? (except maybe on price).

          1. 1

Yeah absolutely there are a lot of these community platform projects out there. The reason I decided to build is it that there is a huge market for it. It shouldn’t be too hard to get it to like $5k MRR. I plan on competing by providing ways to import and export your content. So you own your community. It will be the first open community platform. My goal is to reach $5k-$10k MRR

  7. 1

Hey, would love your thoughts on https://essaygenius.ai

Been building it part time for a few months now and all the basics are done, so just looking for ways to improve it

  8. 1

Hi, I’d like to get feedback for my product https://mentorcolor.org

    1. 1

Thanks, reminds me of Mentorcruise, etc. What sets you apart (except the diversity angle)?

  9. 1

Thanks for this. I'd love you to review https://www.sumizeit.com. We provide key insights into popular non fiction books. We make knowledge easy for everyone. It's all about empowering a new generation of business leaders.

    1. 1

Thanks, reminds me of Blinkist. What sets you apart?

      1. 1

We’re much more affordable than Blinkist.

  10. 1

I'd love a review (and some genuine feedback) for my tool https://www.sesmonitor.com
It's a bit techy, but in simple terms it makes it easy to stay on the good side of AWS and monitors and then alerts you to any issues with your AWS SES email sending.

    Thanks!

    1. 1

Not really in a position to review it since I'm not using SES / not planning to use SES. Cheers

      1. 1

        Sure thing, thanks anyway :)

  11. 1

Would love a review of https://formulastocks.com (there's a free trial when signing up)

Just checking this out myself, it looks great! Thought I'd just point out you've got a broken image on the homepage - next to the "Pages" heading.

      1. 1

Thank you! Seems to be loading just fine now… weird :D

How I came up with the idea:
While learning, it can be difficult to find good examples and once you find a gem then it is important to be able to find that useful example again. I built this chrome extension so that you can save/bookmark pages and have all your favourite code in one place.

    Currently you can:

    1. Open a modal which shows just the code on the page so you can easily scan through all code examples in an article.
    2. Save & tag code examples in one place
    3. Each bookmark has a link so you can go back to the original page that the bookmark/saved code was on.

Hope you enjoy, I am super excited to launch this. I have some big things coming up including a VSCode extension and a way to save notes on videos.

I would greatly appreciate a review, and I can hook you up with a copy

    1. 1

Hi, I'm not a developer, so not the target user, but yes, I see how this can be useful for the right audience. Not the best person to review it though.

  14. 1

    Hi Fred,
Check out our all-in-one wellness program for professionals https://getvealth.com/

It is available on several platforms: Web, Android, iOS, PWA or Chrome Extension.
    Thanks,

    Hi Fred,
I would love to read your review of my free React Chat Components library:
    Project website: https://chatscope.io/
    Github: https://github.com/chatscope/chat-ui-kit-react

    1. 1

Thanks, not a developer, so I can't really give a feedback on this one.

Mitiggate : Make your shared links a limited edition

    1. 1

Thanks, not interested at this stage.

  18. 1

    Hey, generous offer @callmefred!

@johnbourscheid and I would love if you reviewed our privacy startup https://removaly.com.

It's a software that removes your personal information from the internet. Right now it's only for people with a US address, but feel free to DM me on Twitter and I can set you up with an account to test with.

    1. 1

Thanks, not interested at this stage.

  19. 1

    https://endtest.io
And please let me know how I can return the favor.

    1. 1

Thanks but not being a developer I can't give a proper review on this tool. Cheers

    1. 1

Well, not much I can review. But it's a nice topic, among others, for a newsletter.

  20. 1

    Hey Fred,

I would love feedback on Money Simulator it's a browser based sandbox game to help you get better at financial planning.

    1. 1

Well, I don't really get it :-) But nice emulation of the old school Windows environment.

  21. 1

Hi Frédérick, what an great idea!
Currently pre-launch with extenDM.com but happy to invite you with a beta account next week.

    1. 1

Thanks, don't really see the use compared to Tweetdeck which centralizes all my Twitter activity.

      1. 1

Yup, Tweetdeck is really nice for central hub of multiple accounts (or tweet views).
ExtenDM is geared to take the DM discussion outside of the Twitter views, so you don't get sucked into reading Twitter while responding to DMs.

ExtenDM seems to hit a cord with people that are more heavy DM users, have business contacts via DMs and are email central for focused work.

        Thanks for the response!

Hi Fred, I would love a feedback on my Twitter scheduler product - Sociomata.

    Link: https://sociomata.com/

Signing up will start a 7 day free trial that we offer.

      1. 2

I thought the same thing until I clicked the text on the button instead of the area around the button. Try moving the <a> html tag to the outside of your <div> element that you set as the button.

      2. 1

Hey Fred, the issue has now been resolved. Could you please check again and get back to me with your feedback?

          1. 1

Hi @callmefred, Thank you for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. I concur with your thoughts on it being just a Twitter scheduler as of now but we are working towards integrating it with other platforms.

  23. 1

Hello Fred. This is my product. I just released it this new year. Thank you.

    Hey buddy,
Maybe I am a bit late but still, if you're ready to try and provide feedback on saas products then here's one from my side...

    Link: https://cruspo.com {The only platform you need to earn money from videos, live streams and community...}

          1. 1

Hey thank you for the review
I will work on your feedback

We are actually in the likes of Uscreen at the moment. Maybe if you can take a look at their product and drop in another thought on Cruspo...

  25. 1

Hi, give feedback on my product for https://twayobiz.com

    1. 1

Thanks, not interested at this stage.

      1. 1

Ok, that's fine, more for businesses sending files back in forth. Thanks anyway.

Whoa! Looks like you’re already flooded with some amazing products here.

If you’re still considering, do check out Socials — it’s an API to lookup social media links connected to a domain 🔥

    1. 1

Scraping the links in the footer / header of the home page?

      1. 1

Yes. But the majority of my work goes in validating the data manually 😅

Was only partly able to automate it but that’s what I’ve always been super anal about. Data sanity.

  27. 1

Hi Fred, would love your feedback for https://recocards.com/ - a 100% free group greeting (eCards) service . Thank you so much for doing it!!

      1. 1

Thank you so much Fred, really insightful. (P.S. just FYI you can drag the image and messages around to reposition - I should make it a bit clear in the UI).
        Really appreciate your time!!

    1. 1

I'm not the target for the product, so can't really give an opinion.

  28. 1

Hey Fred, how do you make new friends?

dilo finds others who want to hang out, so you don't hang out alone.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. And still the question holds: how do you make new friends?

    1. 1

The question will be: how do you get enough community traction to build a supply of friends suggestions?

      1. 1

        That's a great question.
To build traction I'll start with a small, already established community, like hostels.
When people come to hostels, they don't know each other, and have no means of organizing an activity together, unless in person. But it's hard to be right at the spot where and when the plan is being organized.

So people in hostels can use dilo to explore the city together, to attend to pub-crawls, or go to the museum.
When guests have better experiences in the hostel thanks to dilo, I would hope for them to try dilo in the next hostel, and so on.
Hostel owners also would be interested in promoting dilo, as it encourages people to join activities together, for example pub-crawls, for which the hostel gets a fee.

  29. 1

Hey Fred, check out Prodsee if you get the chance! It's designed to let everyone on your team share documents, files, images or links and provides structure to help you organise it so it's always easy for anyone to find.

People trying Prodsee are using it to create sharing insights across their teams, research repositories, component libraries and even as a company intranet!

Sign up at https://www.prodsee.com. Look forward to any feedback, please contact at [email protected] for any help or if you want a 1-1 demo too! Let me know if there's anything I could do to return the favour too.

      1. 1

Thanks for the candid feedback, its super helpful to see someone walk through the product. Lots of work to do!

  30. 1

Hey Fred, if you feel like reviewing what I'm building over at https://fffuel.co/

Cheers and thanks so much in advance! ✨

    1. 2

Very well done, the best product I've reviewed so far (today). Here's my feedback: https://www.loom.com/share/7e6598458dae4e3ba7a189be307963c1

      1. 1

        Merci beaucoup Fred! 😄

    2. 2

This one is really cool. I recently discovered the world of SVG generators for dilo.me. Will use some SVG from your website.

      1. 1

That sounds awesome, glad to hear it will come handy for your website! 🙌

    1. 1

Not much I can say product-wise, I guess it's another community for remote workers.

  31. 1

Some feedback on your blog: if your main call to action is the "discover my offer" button, you shouldn't have a video ad attached to it. That's your main attention grabber - don't make people immediately click away!

    ====================

Not so much a project as it is an Indie side project - but I'd love to get some honest feedback and some more users :).

    https://focuswithdot.com/home

It's a productivity tool with music and ambient sound mixing (try the rain and thunder combo with some chill music)! Also comes with fun stuff like a to do list, notes, pomodoro timer, and custom stats and titles. I built it to help me focus at my very first desk job, and it's worked a charm! Hope you and others find it useful.

    Thanks for doing this!

Please discover Moning : a tool for people who invest on the stock market and cryptos 🎯.

    It's oriented for long-term investing & it's ad-free.

    1. 1

Nice curation / presentation of investment opportunities, but not much I can say product-wise. So many options out there offering something similar.

  33. 1

Hey Fred, it would be great if you can review our Social Media Aggregator platform at https://kooyal.com/aggregator. Just DM me and I will be happy to get a premium plan. Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.

  34. 1

    Hi Fred,

I've been working on a journaling app for iOS called Seasons Journaling for the past year. I've gotten to the point where I have built out a lot of core journaling features and just recently made some customization options available as In-App Purchases (e.g. background images, patterns, frames). I am eager to get more feedback on the app!

    https://apps.apple.com/app/id1547099008

Please DM me and I'll be happy to give you an offer code that unlocks all the customization options. The same goes for anyone else reading this!

    Thanks!
    Matt

    Hi Fred,
    Please review my app.

    Company 360: Find undervalued stocks
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/company-360/id1464857130

Greatest asset in stock investing is knowledge. Investors using Company 360 research app can do a better estimate of a company's stock price and profit from buying and selling.

Currently available on iOS AppStore. Android version will be available by next year.

    Thank you,
    John

Hey Fred! I'd absolutely love an in-depth review of wrap.so.

It's a browser extension for creating beautiful, shareable product screenshots.

      1. 1

        Thanks for taking the time!

I'll be removing the card requirement in the next version.

  37. 1

Hi Fred, I just completed building v1 of a browser extension called Pigmnts - https://pigmnts.web.app
It would be great to see your review about it 😇

      1. 1

Thank you so much Fred for your time. This was very helpful!

Hi, thanks, not much I can say about the product. Nice little tool.

  39. 1

Hey Frederick. Awesome initiative. I'd be happy to attend. My product called Microns.io, it's place where people discover the best micro startups for sale.

    Would love your thoughts.

    1. 1

"One of those sites" I would say. Not much I can say about it from a product perspective. Are you involved in vetting / due diligence?

  40. 1

Hello Fred, can you review our site? A logo maker, https://instantlogodesign.com

We're happy to provide any insight to you if needed, and will post your review on our social media pages with more than 2k followers.
