Made an extravagant commercial. Not sure it will work ๐Ÿ˜… WDYT?

Hello!

Video is a popular and trusted medium, especially among young audiences.
I wanted to have a neat video commercial for my SaaS (Unicorn Platform, the landing page builder) to promote it.

There are 3 types of video commercials of digital products:

  1. Cartoon clipart animation. A common way to present a project.
  2. The "happy people" video where smiling well-dressed folks are having heaven satisfaction from your product.
  3. Presentation of the interface with a voice narrative and/or cool beats.

This is good, but I wanted to make something completely new. Something that never existed. Something bold and fun.
Our product stands out, and I wanted the video to stand out too!

So I hired a talented Russian girl to make a promo video for my project.
The result of her work is a TikTok-like 31-sec video full of meta-irony ๐Ÿ˜

I plan to promote the video on Twitter and Instagram, but I'm very unsure this kind of humor will be accepted and understood. I also doubt the main message is delivered properly.

I'm really curious what do you think about it?

The video:

What do you think about the video?
  1. It looks fresh and cool! ๐Ÿ˜‚
  2. It is OK ๐Ÿ˜ถ
  3. I do not understand this ๐Ÿคจ

Thanks bro! ๐Ÿ˜ I'm glad you liked it.

You should also promote it on tiktok/reels.
    Looks perfect for that.

Totally! Gonna post it on TikTok soon ๐Ÿ™‚

I saw it yesterday in Twitter and I loved it ๐Ÿ˜! I was tempted to sign-up, I didn't, but the reason is I don't have time to use it right now, I bookmarked you though!

Loved the video Alex! I actually wanted to ask you who it was so I can hire her to do mine ๐Ÿ˜‚

It is an individual. You can reach her here: https://www.instagram.com/p_upok ๐Ÿ™‚

The video is very funny and interesting, but in my opinion, there's a lack of "showing what product is" and everything best that you have in your product.

It looks more like these viral big-brands ads that looking for awareness.

But I think in TikTok it might go viral :)

I decided not to mix the product presentation and the fun part. Maybe it is a wrong decision ๐Ÿค”

Honestly I donโ€™t think itโ€™s going to work. Maybe as a TikTok video but not as an ad. There are some best practices that you need to follow to make a great creative that converts.

It is always interesting to experiment. I am curious, how are you tracking the performance of this ad? I think a lot of people would be interested in the results of how well it performs.

No matter how the ad performs you can always use the results as another marketing avenue by putting up content on how meta/unique ads perform in this day and age.

Hey! It is a good question ๐Ÿ˜Š

I plan to use UTM tags and run a paid ad campaign. Thus I will be able to see how many clicks, sign-ups, and sales the campaign will bring. I will share the results in our company blog.

But I'm sure such a commercial has side marketing effects that are untrackable at such low volume and at such a niched market.

But I'm sure such a commercial has side marketing effects that are untrackable at such low volume and at such a niched market.

        So very true.

Just one suggestion. You might want to add a link to your website in the video. If this ad spreads virally people might see it with out your website link anywhere.

I think this would be an interesting experiment to seed it on a platform like reddit or Tiktok. Not positioned as an ad from your company but put out organically some how. The audience there has a taste for meta humor.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

This reminds me commercials you can find on local TV stations in the US.

๐Ÿ‘ It is fun and quirky.
๐Ÿ‘Ž At the same time, it has qualities that will make it spectacular for some, and deterring for others.

Hey Jarek. I believe it is important to make a perfect thing that suits everyone's needs. The goal is to find a balance.

I'm unsure if I found the balance with this commercial so I decided to make this poll ๐Ÿ™‚
