4 things you can do when you hit a slump

When I hit a slump, I try a few things…

  1. Go for long walks, every day for a few days (I do this every other day anyway as it’s a good way to stay healthy) 😊
  2. Read a book (I don’t do this often enough), which can bring in new thoughts
Fatigued by current work? Try something completely new, talk to people about that new thing that triggers a burst of creative thoughts
  3. Catch up with people (friends or ex-colleagues), especially in this remote age when we don’t meet people regularly (at the watercooler or at the pub)
  4. Do something you don’t do usually. Make a snowman, go skiing, surfing, sketching a picture outdoors, etc. I was once advised this by a coach who claimed e.g. going to a museum can “reset” your clouded mind

…added bonus: any of the above should make life richer 😊
