5 Minute Run (Day 428)

Yey! It's a Friday night! I really don't feel like running!!!

There is this 5 minute guided run by NRC (Nike Run Club) app. I took the bait.

After all the hassle of changing into running gears, I ran the 5 minute run, with coach Bennett. (Look at the way he grins in the image!!!) It feels unfinished still, and I clicked on the next run. After I've done the next run, I was only 0.75 mile off from completing a 3.11 mile (5k) run. So I stayed on and ended up running a 5k. (And look at the way he grins in the image again! ;-P)

Has it happened to you, too? It happened to me many times. There are times when I felt tired and sleepy, but I wanted to drop down an idea, or finish a line of code, and ended up working the entire evening tirelessly.

Reminds me of what author James Clear shares in his book Atomic Habit--just schedule yourself for 1 push-up, and it could trigger your entire workout routine! That's what exactly happened to me today!

Little progress counts. That's how I finished many projects. Little progress every day. While it's satisfying--once in a while--to do a dashing hackathon over a sleepless weekend, building and growing every day is a safer bet for accomplishing your goals. Knowing that you have better yourself today, is an incredible feeling that you can take to bed.
