50% of Net Profits to Autism

Hello all!

Coffee has always been a real passion of mine and doing good has always been to. My brother has been looking for a good way to get into entrepreneurship space so I built him shopfreshcoffee.com. We are both currently running it as a passion project to get to understand the industry and give back to the community by donating 50% of all net profits to Autism.

I was wondering if I could get some feedback from the IndieHackers community on the best ways to possibly grow the business? I was thinking of a podcast interviewing successful autistic entrepreneurs? Any ideas help. Just let me know. Thanks!

Best,
Joe

So what does it exactly mean to 'donate to Autism'?

I mean, I'm autistic, hence I would donate it all to myself. 🤷‍♂️

Good question. Currently, we donate to the Autism Speaks Foundation but I would like to eventually donate to a specific person or organize scholarships so we can personalize it much more and be more in control in assuring as much money as possible goes into the causes hands.

I drink 3-4 cups of coffee per day. I drink/buy coffee because it tastes good and it gives me a kick. The "donates to autism" is icing on the cake for me, but I really just care about the flavor and caffeine content.

Good point! I feel that's definitely something I can work on highlighting more while just highlighting the good portion of things.

The first header of your website got me a bit confused about what you are doing. I would keep that first header related to coffee and highlight that you're giving 50% of all net profits to Autism somewhere else (around the prices, or in a banner in a colour that stands from blue somewhere on your page).

Have you found nice communities of coffee aficionados online? If so, what was their feedback?

    Nice initiative btw 😀

That's a good point. It is not that clear. I will look into clearing that up!

Yes, I have! I am a coffee aficionado myself and the community has given great feedback. The one reoccurring thing is highlighting the product more and just briefly touching on the 50% to Autism. The coffee for good seems to be a hit but the product still matters! That is what I am currently working on!
