Day #001 of #100DaysOfCode (x2)

Hi Guys,

It's day one!

Have to confess, this is not my first go at coding but I do plan on sticking with it this time.

Will be using IH to document my journey and to keep me accountable.

All encouragement is welcome as is any offer of mentorship.

If there is anyone out there who is also on this journey and would like to partner up and keep each other accountable, please, do not hesitate to reach out!

WILT (What I Learned Today)

*I'm following a Traversy media Heroku clone tutorial on YouTube (he's AMAZING btw. Definitely recommend.)

How `align-items` and `justify-content` work in flex.

How to use `::before` and `::after` pseudo selectors (they are so cool!)

  The magical awesomeness of `transform`, `skew`, `rotate` and `translate`.

I also learnt to be mindful of what I type. Wrote hi instead of h1. Didn't take me too long to find the bug but it could have been so much worse.

It took me close to two hours to build just the navbar and hero section (took Brad less than 30mins) but hey, I did it.

I'll deploy the entire thing on netlify when it's finally done and put a link here.

Well, that's it guys.

It was a good code day and a good #Day001.

Till 'morrow y'all.

Caio.

    Hello Luchi,

Nice endeavor you are starting here! The more you'll practice and learn, the quicker your development will be... keep going!

Also, I am dipping my toes in SaaS with Django and I was wondering what motivates your choice for Netlify over other hosting services like Heroku?

      Thanks!

Used it before in my first go so a bit comfortable with it. It's also free.

Any particular reason you're considering Heroku?

I'm honestly not the person to ask. Haven't dipped my toes or explored enough to have any kind of opinion on these things that would be considered informed.

You should probably make a post on the Developers group with a question along those lines. I'm certain you'll find people better qualified to answer that question who'd be willing to help you.

      Good luck!

Thank you Luchi for the suggestion, I'll definitely poke their mind!
