I dread marketing tasks for my SaaS. Have you used an agency or service to make it easier?

I should be doing a better job marketing my SaaS on FB & Google; but I have zero interest (and honestly a fair bit of dread) in personally doing all the work to do it well. Have you worked with an agency or used a tool to make this workload easier and smaller?

I know all of the following things are necessary - and I don't want to do them:

  • Find and optimize keywords / targeting
  • Build creative - so many creatives! Images, stories, different video and banner form factors. Then...
  • Iterate, prune, and refine the creatives based on campaign performance; and
  • Iterate and refine campaign parameters; and probably
  • Improve landing page & SEO content to pair with observed performance.

Marketing budget would be $1-2k monthly.

I don't want to get too far into why I don't want to do these things - merely looking for things I can do to reduce or offload what I know to be a critical workload.

Thank you!

This is for you if you dread marketing. In short you need a marketing co-founder. Why? read on.

      Nailed it.

You can build the most brilliant product, but if you don't get that product into the hands of the right audience who wants to buy it - who really cares? Marketing/Sales/Growth are all essential pieces of the puzzle. Without these things, your project will stay a project and never become a business.

Agree with the sentiment of a lot of the other folks here - don't go the agency route, find a freelancer or some other business minded entrepreneur that's looking for some hours, work with them for 3+ months paid, and if the working relationship goes well - bring them on to the team full time.

Hey, would be interested in helping you out with the tasks you mentioned above. In the marketing for past 10years. Been doing some of these things for adsigner.com and would have you as well. If we are a good fit, we can possibly arrange some other type of deal but lets first see 1-3 months of working together.

You said it yourself, a lot of these things are necessary. If you're trying to completely avoid these, before looking at agencies it might be helpful to just hire someone for smaller items or a co-founder who can complement you.

Hey @spikeytown, truest me, none of us likes marketing! But it does not necessarily has to be the boring tasks that you've mentioned above.

I enjoyed my marketing tasks like engaging with posts like this right now as I feel happy when engaging with indie founders and helping them with their projects. I know it may sound a little cliche but it is truly the case.

I could go on and on about marketing but I think you would find more value scrolling through different marketing case studies that you can replicate on my site: GrowthHunt.co

If you are interested, I'd love to offer a free access for you to get your product off the ground.

Cheers and all the best. Don't give up!
