Hi everyone!
Hope you and your families are safe in these uncertain times.
After years of reading and learning about your exciting projects here at Indie Hackers, the time to present my own project has arrived.
Last August I made SaaS Rank public. You can see it here.
This project aims to promote the use of SaaS products among Spanish-speaking users while helping startups to connect with highly-motivated end-users.
Let me tell you a story about the highly-motivated-yet-ignored Spain-LATAM SaaS market:
For too long, I've observed how my clients here in Spain, small companies with 5 to 10 people, struggled with obsolete systems. They ignored the existence of very popular tools we all know in great detail, such as Trello, Asana, Google Drive, Notion, Pipedrive, and so on.
Working as a marketer, I decided to spend some of my free time helping these clients out with their processes, implementing tools, and preaching about their use. And every single time I was deeply surprised at how shocked and enthusiastic they were with the existence of these SaaS tools. Resources in Spanish were limited and SaaS providers were doing next to no marketing for this audience.
So after years of inaction, I decided to move forward with SaaS Rank.
All these years in marketing gave me access to a good network of small and medium business owners who are highly motivated to digitize their companies. This became especially true when the pandemic hit. Many professionals, unaware of the tools available, were suffering to keep their businesses afloat.
Since the project became public in my network, I've been helping, providing guidance, and even implementing with a no-code approach.
I enjoy my profession, being a marketer, but SaaS is different for me. I love it. And because I'm not a developer, I'm doing my part in the best way I can.
I'm currently sitting down (virtually) with every single business owner in my network, trying to understand their needs and how SaaS products can satisfy them.
The project isn't profitable yet. The goal is to make it so by offering consulting services to end-users and reaching sponsorship agreements with SaaS providers.
At this moment, I've published 321 products and 19 long articles that aim to provide value. SEO performance is picking up. I'll continue to push fresh content. This week I'll talk with two SaaS providers that want to collaborate on that end, possibly with guest posts, demos, and interviews. Ideally, I will find the time to produce review videos and/or a podcast (not sure yet).
And to be completely honest, I want this post to serve a couple of purposes. Obviously, to show my project to a community I hold dear but also to listen to your feedback and ideas.
Creating this amount of content while talking with end-users while still working as a marketer full-time has been exhausting. I'm very happy right now with the progress but would love some feedback from you guys.
And naturally, I will be more than happy to publish your products as well. If you want me to do so, please say it here or send me more information at [email protected].
I thank you all in advance for your comments.
Take care!
