Hello everyone 👋🏻
I want to ask everyone a question geared towards validating an idea I have.
I searched up "philosophy discussion forum" and a myriad of other phrases earlier in search of a good community focused on modern philosophy.
I couldn't find any - and therefore I'd like to develop one.
Before I do, I want to ask everyone:
Would a philosophy community (think Dev.to but focused on modern/practical philosophical discussion, articles and advice) be something you are interested in?
Let me know what you think 👨🏼💻
Thanks a bunch,
Colin

Yes! Would very munch enjoy such a thing.
I'd even charge a small fee to participate to prevent trolling, but there'd have to be enough value in the community to do so.
Agreed - thinking a low cost subscription fee but there definitely needs to be an underlying community first. I figure I may need to start by building a newsletter or a following elsewhere.
I'm so in for that + have my existentialist cafe crowd of friends who would love it too!
Brilliant! 😁
Count me in :+1:
Yeah, I'd definitely be interested in some engaging philo-talk

I think /r/philosophy seems to be more of an aggregation of articles and discussion of them, rather than original content and ideas being posted.
If you look at a website like Dev.to, the users are the ones creating the articles and posts, and discussions are held on their own.
I think I want this project to be more focused towards modern, practical philosophy as opposed to discussing traditional philosophy (although this has its place too).
The same way indiehackers is different from /r/startups
