    This problem has been the bane of my life in almost every product I've built.

    I've tried every single technique described at the top of that article (including the Cron job one!)

    This is news to my ears that it can be resolved this easily. Thanks so much for sharing!

      I implemented it, and so far so good! It estimates costs of $0.62/month to set a minimum instance on one of my most crucial functions.

        Awesome - and that is much less. Our min we saw was $3 per function.
