A website that generates activities for your free time

link: https://what-todo.vercel.app
EDIT: Made responsive for mobile. The UX is much better.
EDIT-2: Made it a PWA. Mobile UX is much better (Tested on iOS).
EDIT-3: Added external links and descriptions. You can also suggest activities now.

Hello Everyone. Since a lot of people have started working from home due to pandemic, they have more free time and sometimes they just don't know what to do with their free time. Or maybe they go to an office but even then they sometimes don't know what to do with their free time.

So I came up with the idea of this website that I just made. You just keep on pressing space bar and it generated activities for you to try out in your free time.

If the website gets enough attention, I plan to implement these features:

  • A social network where people can share their own lists and their experiences.
  • Creating your own list of activities
  • Way more activities than I currently have (43)
  • A community for members to share their experiences
  • External links to get started with certain activities

I like the idea. The page is simple and clean and fun to interact with (may be add some fun music)
I am sure you have tons of ideas to add , but I think before you launch, it will be better if you add some specifics on the thing to do (similar web site https://www.mydomaine.com/things-to-do-when-bored ) and add some cool and unique ideas so that people get a feel that this is a unique web site.

Are you also planning to add features for users to contribute things to do, comment on how they acted on the idea?

    Good luck

I really appreciate the feedback. I do plan on adding some details on things to do. Also, the user contribution idea seems very good. I hadn’t planned it but it’s definitely something I can consider.

You could link to a relevant resources (maybe later affiliate links?) when an idea pops up. I got a prompt to read something by Aristotle which is quite vague. Something more specific like read Aristotle's version of First Principles would have been better: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_principle#Aristotle's_contribution

Thank you so much for the feedback, it is really valuable to me. This is just an MVP to try to out if people like it or not. I was considering links to external sites where people could actually get started with these activities as a feature.

Nice! Love the dark mode toggle as well. Me and my partner are constantly asking each other "what should we do now" during the pandemic. I think we've found our answer!

I like the idea. Linking out to learn more for each idea would make a much better experience. How do you plan to get traffic to the site?

Thank you for the feedback. At this moment, I only plan to launch on product hunt to get traffic and get users from reddit groups. Anything you would like to suggest though?
