Any good discord/slack channels for indie hackers?

Anyone know of good discord or slack channels to follow for indie hackers looking to chat, meet others, share ideas, get feedback, etc?

Thanks for the reply! I checked out your website and have a few questions:

          • So there are 7 calls per week? Do members join all the calls or just some?
          • How many members are typically on a call, and is it a round-robin format?
          • Are the calls required? I was seeking more of an async chat format where I could come and go on my own schedule, but I get the value of scheduled calls too.
          • Do you have an idea of how much you plan to charge in the future?

Btw, I used to be part of a couple of different mastermind groups a while ago, but they fizzled out.

@pliao39 runs a very good Zoom session every other Saturday that has a number of serious technology entrepreneurs. There is an associated discord channel as well.

      Thanks for the recommendation!

Yes, they don't call it a Slack there, but that is what they use.

          Thanks! Will check it out!

Hey @stevenkkim. We have a niche group of creators and entrepreneurs at Startup Sanctuary. Feel free to check it out and see if it is up your street.

https://mailinglisthackers.com/chat is the discord for mailing list hackers. will eventually be part of the paid annual membership, but we're growing the discord right now (~20 people in it at the moment) so it's free to join. if you're into mailing lists/newsletters, join us! we're going to begin hosting meetups & talks inside of the discord soon too, so it's a really exciting time to join!

Interesting, I will check it out. I was looking for a more general chat for indie hackers, but specific topics could be interesting too. Do you have an idea of how much you plan to charge in the future?

totally get it! a lot of our members are IH folk, and you're welcome to post about whatever you'd like in the #lounge, but it is definitely oriented towards people building lists.

as for pricing, not 100% confirmed yet but shooting for a launch price of $50/year. will include access to content, past meetups/events, and a bunch of other stuff too. probably will continue to increase the price as more members join and we have more content to offer! open to feedback on it though too :)

$50/year seems reasonable to me, assuming the value is there. Are you targeting email marketers (e.g. email is marketing channel to sell a product) or newsletter businesses (e.g. the newsletter IS the product i.e. substack) or both?

          1. 1

hey! honestly, both – i personally do a mix of both (newsletter/emails as marketing for events i put on) but consider the newsletter to be a big product on its own. my unscientific guess is that most people in the chat have newsletter-as-products right now, but i'm really interested in digging into more email-as-marketing stuff as i make more content, interview ppl, etc.

great questions.... you should really join :) haha

Sounds good, I'll check it out!
