We have listed our product Notesally(https://appsumo.com/products/notesally/) in AppSumo on Dec 28th 2021. We have made the decision to introduce Notesally to the appsumo community in order to get some initial traction and get some feedback from early adopters. So far we have had none but we are hopeful and positive that we will get atleast one user
I'm listing my digital product on AppSumo, The Job Indecision Calculator (https://jobindecision.xyz) and it should hopefully be live tomorrow. I'll drop a link when it's up and do a write-up about it after it's done.
A bit late but; How do you handle invoices ? do you need to emit one invoice for each e-book you sell ? do you have to do the proper VAT for that if client in EU ?
My experience with submitting my product is pretty good. The one exception being that if you want a link in your description (e.g. to refer to your product website, which seems important) you cannot do it yourself but have to ask and explain to your AppSumo rep where you want the link. Other than that oddity its smooth and the AppSumo ppl are very helpful.
As for the environment, AppSumo has a pretty nice system where people can leave reviews and ask questions. New entries are "unresolved" to start with, so it's easy to see what questions may need a response from you, after which you can mark them as resolved.
So far I only interacted with one Sumo-ling, and he gave excellent feedback, explaining what he liked, and also came with several good suggestions. In that sense (getting feedback, learning from potential users) AppSumo can be a great opportunity.
As for sales, I just started and got one sale so far. I've seen people complain that you need to lower your price so much that its not worth it. But one extra user does not cost me much, and from what I've heard, these are a group of users that'd be hard to targer otherwise. I get 70% of a sale and even 95% if its from a new AppSumo user so that pretty fair.
@VoiceformPhil, if you're looking for some benchmarks, to get an idea if Appsumo can work for you, I've got something crazy helpful ...
I'm a marketer and I was working with a couple of startups that wanted to be listed on AS, but I had to business data to actually build a case or a go-to-market strategy
so I've analyzed over 650 Appsumo deals and forecasted their sales starting from over 25 deals for which I had their true revenue numbers (from the founders)

The drought has been broken today with my first sale!
How's it going now?
It’s gone better to date after a really slow start.
My first product is up to 22 sales and $180 and my second product is up to 3 sales and $89.

Hey, I'm thinking of listing on Appsumo too. I'd love to check out your analysis but the link seems to be broken.
