AppSumo - yay or nay?

I received an email from AppSumo yesterday asking if I would be interested in listing on AppSumo.

I'm not sure what to make of it, anyone with experience selling through them?

I don't know yet what the deal will be, but having bought from them I know it tends to be a heavily discounted annual plan.

I'm thinking, why not. I'd get free exposure and the revenue would be handy. I'd probably be reaching people that I wouldn't normally be able to reach with a limited network and marketing budget.

Any thoughts?

Would you sell your SaaS product through Appsumo?

If you're looking to get a lot of early traction, it can definitely be a good idea. You'll get users who'll provide you with valuable feedback to continue improving your product. AppSumo's got really big reach, so in terms of distribution they can be of huge help.

Keep in mind you'll have to offer your product at a discounted lifetime deal and 70% of it goes to AppSumo. So make sure you'll be able to upsell these customers later on.

There's plenty of success stories and companies who didn't regret launching there, e.g. lemlist
