Ask IH: How to monetise a niche search engine?

Hey IH! You've been very helpful to me in my indie journey and today I come to you as someone who has tried and failed with the affiliate monetisation business model. I've developed a niche search engine for cosmetics and am wondering what route I should follow to try and monetise it. I previously tried going down the advertising and affiliate marketing route, but noticed that this was not working for me (I wrote a bit more about it here https://blog.race-conditions.net/posts/experimenting-with-the-affiliate-business-model-for-tech-microbusinesses/ ). Any advice/suggestions/experiences welcome!

    Very long ..
    Who is the common user?
What's the value to him he benefits?
Do you have more premium users/uses that might be worth 10x or more of the common user?

Commonly you can either sell a product or a service, affiliate just let's you leverage other people's product, services and business as a sales promoter, ads are way down the chain but let others take a risk with your visitors.

If the tech is special it might have a niche user that would value it highly.
I'm not sure who that would be for your niche but maybe you can think of one, maybe importers/wholesalers of non brand equivalents
