At what point do you have enough validation to move forward?

Hi Indiehackers,

I put out a survey today on Reddit about an idea and got 10 responses – not many – but 7/10 said they would pay for the service. It would be great to get more responses and I plan on it, but I realized I don't know how many responses to aim for or what percentage of confirmation enough to move forward with the idea (or pivot). This is my first post btw so sorry if it's been posted already. Thanks for any guidance on this question!

Best,

It really depends on the amount of potential customers your idea has.

Also, there is a big difference between someone saying he/she wants to pay and actually paying.

If those 7 people actually end up paying for your MVP (pre-sale for example) then I would be a bit more confident to continue.

Another thing to consider is howmany views did your post (or website) get vs howmany signed up and howmany actually paid.

You're absolutely right. I'll keep that in mind as I consider next steps, Thanks!
