Awesome Strategy To Determine the Awesome Target Audience. #HELP!

The project, in essence, on one sentence: diary with the ability to «write» using just emojis.

I am using it and it is simply FUN to log your day in a such visual way. Also it is a way to reflect on your day. You log events, you can log your emotions, or poops.

#HELP

My marketing budget is low. What would be the right strategy to find my audience? My current plan is to buy ads on facebook.

In other way, how to connect this app with the audience?..

Let's brainstorm together!

Interesting concept, but not clear. Before you even start to promote the idea, you probably should determine who is your main target group. If you want to target several different group with same concept, you need to adjust the writing and visual style specifically for that group (age, education level, some other demographics) For example, are you targeting teenagers? Or business people? Or maybe elders?

    • For teenagers, you are good with emojis because they use them over social media.

    • For business people, those standard social media emojis are not serious enough, they would probably need some custom set of icons with more business style icons that can represent office, meetings, notes, graphs, etc. Research icon packs, there is hundreds of free/freemium/paid icon sets all over the internet.

    • For elders you also need set of different icons since their needs and activities are different from teenagers and business people. Think on food items and icons, on health status issues presented through icons, on activities in homes for elderly with icons like bingo and other social games, maybe emotions too.

Also you can expand on elderly setup - make that diary entries optional for sharing, so if relatives close to their grandma want to see how she is doing and what she did that day can see it, follow her activities, call if she put sad face to see what's wrong, etc. As I said, it has potential, but a lot of custom work is expected around each user group if you want to gain some users and keep them active. And keep in mind - your competitor is not other xyz diary-type product, but Facebook.

You made some strong points. You are awesome!
