Boring job referrals should die

Hi IndieHackers,
I recently submitted a reference of one of my friends to an ex-employer.
You know what? Such a tedious process with no apparent benefits! The person should pass the probation period, and only then I'm getting the reference bonus.
This old-style, one-sided approach is a bit outdated because the market belongs to the candidates, not to employers. Especially in the techie-space. Can you share your reference experience? How would you like to be recommended?

I totally agree with, Suppose I want to refer somebody for a role, I have to write an email on their behalf and follow up the same. This process is killing me, I am working on an idea to improve referrals, want to discuss more DM
