I know, I know, yet another website builder.
I am building www.nolio.so. It is the easiest way to create UX portfolios for early-stage designers.
My overarching strategy
- I developed my own data on what UX designers want through interviews
- Got a product in front of them as soon as possible with mockups
- Currently getting their skin in the game by having 'em pay for pre-orders
- I'd like to launch the product already knowing designers like it
What I am realizing
- Early-stage designers pick portfolio builders largely based on advice from peers. Launching on Discord is one thing but I need to figure out how to get people talking about Nolio to their friends.
- I love software dev. and find myself saying "yeah 1 user test is enough" so I can get back to coding when I should be scheduling a lot more user tests.
Where I am at
- conducted 3 user tests with high fidelity mockups
- conducted 1 user test with V1 software
- Launched the landing page in a UX Design discord yesterday and got 2 signups within the first hour.
- Trying to set up demo calls with signups
- Reaching out to UX designers on LinkedIn to ramp up user testing
