Building in Public on Indie Hackers?

Hi everyone,

So I've reached a point where I haven't taken care of my physical or mental health for a VERY long time.

I started an EdTech business with my girlfriend around 8 months ago now and although we've grown VERY slowly vs the plan (bc she works a job and I've been building alone while fighting a 5 year long depression) we've hit $7.3k MRR.

I want the next stage of my company's growth to be public - to keep myself accountable and to attract the right kind of people.

So my Q is...

What kind of content do Public Builders post every day?

Well, the usual stuff - the struggles we face, the problems with Integrations, the zero-signup days. Basically sharing the whole journey - in a transparent and authentic way.

While building vibes.so in public I'm mostly documenting my personal journey which is going to be cool to look back at so I'm posting everything that would be interesting for future-me to read about. I think that's a good way to start.

"Yes, this is an MVP, but it will look awesome in a few more weeks." ... love it :DDD

I decided it's better to be honest and manage the expectations :D

Thx for sharing this. Still pre rev so not sure what translates. Daily has been hard for me and I dont know what people want to see, but what feels useful for me….

    • sharing real time so others can jump in when I’m online, say in my shared google spreadsheet, is helpful. Either on Twitter or here or microconf slack.
    • insta stories / reels is something I’m trying next week, maybe a gif of iterations on layout during the day if I’m doing ux work.
