Hello neighbors!
After many years of designing, developing and deploying content management and backend systems for large publishers, I have come to the conclusion that a larger share of the market is now keen to build value by building its own house and stop giving away the wealth of data to platforms.
Here comes the idea of getting started with a simple yet powerful vision to productize the service of installing and maintaining the CMS Ghost.
The idea behind it is that a simple, repeatable productized service can entice a niche into requesting the installation service which helps to bring in content and user management. Some of the creators will have growing requirements along the lines of customizing their new (owned) house and building special functionalities.
It's much more about building a community of purpose-driven customers than making money outright of the service. It's also much less about competing against Ghost Pro or similar hosted CMS services.
The real scope of the business is to build and educate, and as I say in the article at https://installghostfor.me/build-value-by-owning-your-ghost-data/ it's about being in for the long haul to build trust which ultimately leads to an audience that is aligned with my own values.
Hopefully you have opinions and critics to share, I'm keen to discuss the whys and of course to refine the MVP.
Have a good one everyone!
