Built a side project in an evening to promote my side project

I spun up this project, Use Pandas last night with the ultimate goal of promoting my other side project Deliberate Python.

It's a collection of Python pandas recipes :) Perfect for data analysts, engineers, etc.

Check it out here --> usepandas.com

If you leverage existing tools, you can build and deploy useful stuff to people pretty quickly!

How I did it:

  • Used namecheap's logo maker to make a quick logo for the project
  • Bought domain from namecheap.
  • Picked a starter Gatsby theme
  • Deployed site with Netlify
  • Wrote the content for the site.

Pretty low friction way of getting something out there in the world.

The goal of this project is to be a free and easy to use resource for Python devs. I'd like to leverage it to grow my Twitter audience.

Shout-out to @Gabe for the inspiration and advice. Already got a couple of people sign up for the newsletter from this!

I've got a lot more effort to put into this project for it to be really useful but now that the skelton is set-up, I can add a few recipes a week without too much effort.

Thanks for the heads up! I fixed the links.

I gave you a nod as well on the bottom of main page of usepandas, I just thought your idea was such a great one! Cheers 🙏

Nice. If you want I can send you some pandas recipes:

    • merging several csv files together.
    • doing sql like join between data frame

Yeah it’s pretty nice for quick and easy logos! Also it’s free which is cool!

It’s perfect for small projects for sure!
