Built an MVP. Hit front page of hacker news. Now what?

I launched Keenforms on Nov 30, 2020 - https://www.keenforms.com

Hit front page of hacker news - https://blog.keenforms.com/57-2/

Got signups, got feedback, had to fix some bugs and added some features. I'm trying to avoid adding anything new, need focus on marketing and promotion. I'm planning on spending a little money on fiverr for someone to create an explainer video. Trying to get a marketing plan, things like launching on product hunt, etc. I was rejected by betalist, but not sure why.

Biggest obstacle is I have a full time job. All the stuff I do for keenforms is after hours, evenings and weekends. Would consider at least talking to a full time marketer or even take on a partner. I'm trying to figure out what to do next.

Hi! I took a look at your site and these were my first thoughts:

    1. Another form builder?
    2. Cool! It has support for logic.
    3. Why would I use it for?
    4. The main problem with forms is getting answers. Not sure if this helps.
    5. There is no CTA. Let me look for pricing.

So, my advice would be to start narrowing your product to a niche: Who needs dynamism in their forms? and also uses them often enough. Maybe market researchers? Product owners? Startup accelerators?

After finding your niche redo the landing to include use cases, starter forms, a blog that talks about the solutions to the pain point your future users face, and pricing that makes sense for them.

Your job is not a problem, is actually a good thing. It lets you play the long game. Just make sure to allocate an hour a day, and a few hours during weekends.

does CTA mean Call To Action?

I'm working on generating more content. Keenforms has a few distinct features that makes it very different from other form builders - conditional calculations and validations, multistep operations and the ability to control the order of operations. Not everyone needs those features, but I've met enough people who have been frustrated with their form builder that would be able to do what they need with my application.

The most likely users would be freelancers who build forms for other people. I've known some freelancers who forms for sites who have been frustrated with their form builder. The hope is that keenforms can succeed where other form builders fail.

As you are in early-stage, focus on building an audience ( C community ) around your product with the help of side project marketing, build in public, content marketing, etc. At the same time keep building your product, get feedback, iterate, etc. Also, focus on how you can convert those free users into paid users ( maybe 10% or more ). ( Note: my personal opinion)

Also, I am building nocodestartups.in which is in short a product hunt for startups or products made with no code/ low code. It is a place to find and get inspired by thousands of no-code founders/ tools.

Congrats! Do you also have some paying customers already? Do you think an explainer video is the thing you need the most now at this stage? It will take time to produce as well.

Currently we have no paying customers. The video should only be 2 weeks or less.
