Can someone please build this?

I'm looking for Carrd for blogs. Here are the features I would want:

  • Basic CMS
  • Hosting
  • Static Site
  • From zero to live published blog in a short amount of time
  • Fast hosting
  • Reasonable pricing (e.g. not $360/yr like ghost)
  • Custom Domain

Can anyone recommend an existing service or is someone building one I can pay for?

Edit: I found one! Going to give this a try: https://bloggi.co/

No SEO or theme info, but everything else looks great.

@ChrisFrantz thanks for shout-out! That's pretty much what I'm trying to achieve with Bloggi. Happy to help you with anything :)

And by the way, I have some big updates coming this year 👀

    I'm using Netlify + Hugo:

    • Free (0$) ✅
    • Can integrate Google Analytics ✅
    • Custom domain ✅
    • Fast hosting ✅
    • Themes ✅
    • Zero to live with one article published took me 2 hours.

Hey @ChrisFrantz. I recently found about Hashnode that does all of this. You can use my join link here https://hashnode.com/@linkish/joinme . Nothing monetary, will just get to unlock some features.

I’m about to launch a platform using Contentful as the CMS, and AWS for the backend and hosting. All free excluding the $12 for the domain name reg.

Hey there, it’s me, your new customer. 👋

Give us a shout if you need a hand with anything relating to this Chris. I might be able to help you out. I've done the same for others and sometimes end up helping with the hosting side too with some spare capacity. Bloggi looks interesting. Let us know how you get on with it.

you can try with Gatsby (there are starters for basic blogs) with Contentful as CMS: https://www.contentful.com/r/knowledgebase/gatsbyjs-and-contentful-in-five-minutes/

As for deployment I will go with Github Pages or Netlify (both free).

I hope bloggi works out for you. It's interesting you requested this, because it's exactly what I'm tackling. Just started yesterday, so I do not have a landing page yet, but let me know if you're still interested.

In terms of CMS - what would expect to see in the CMS? Just curious on ideas as I toyed with this idea a while ago before I burnt myself out with TrackMyLift

They have blog templates in Webflow that you could spin up pretty fast. Depends on how complicated you're blog modeling will be (categories, etc)

    1. 2

Webflow is fine, I use it for one site. It’s around $200/yr with CMS and not static.

      1. 1

I have been thinking about using Webflow as CMS instead of a python backend for a project I'm working on now - $200/yr is a little steep IMO but it might be worth it having so much tooling within one platform.

No-code options are getting strong features but the monthly subscription starts adding up if you have 2+ different services (mailchimp, zapier, etc).

    There's also GoHugo.

  11. 1

what would you pay for something like that?

    1. 3

Probably $50-$100 annual. Planning to go with bloggi which is $50/yr.

      1. 1

Why don't you just try cheaper Ghost hosting alternatives with the features you mentioned. I did a simple google search and I found quiet a few that meet the criteria.

Care to share? I wasn’t able to find any.

          1. 1

Just type in [ghost blog hosting] in google. There is a 10 dollar host option on the first page.

Is Forestry maybe the kind of thing you're looking for?

    https://forestry.io/

    1. 1

I like foresty.io very well design template the only thing not clear to new users
is you have to goto settings start the server.. then you have to modify something
on a page and save it before the preview icon will appear

Statamatic is cool, but not looking for just a CMS.

I’m looking for the whole thing: hosting, theme, cms, static, reasonable pricing.

If someone just provided a GUI between Hugo and Netlify, appended a web based CMS to it, then charged me $20/yr for it, I’d be a happy guy.

        1. 2

Tried it! Well, tried to at least. I’m sure lots of people are able to do it, but after deploying and adding myself as a user to the CMS I never got the email to activate it.

    sounds like wordpress :)

Not static, hacking is always an issue, speed can be a pain to optimize for, dedicated hosting is expensive.
