A bit of back story: I'm building a temporary email chrome extension called Inboxes (https://inboxes.app), and it works pretty slick! I've submitted it to the chrome store twice now, and it's getting rejected with the following:
Violation reference ID: Yellow Magnesium
Violation: Not providing promised functionality.
Relevant section in the Programme policies:
Spam and placement in the Store
Functionality: Do not post an extension with a single purpose of installing or launching another app, theme, webpage or extension. Extensions with broken functionality – such as dead sites or non-functioning features – are not allowed.
The website is clean, and links back to the Chrome store, so it's evidently not spam, the extension works well, and there's very little I can see the chrome dev team rejecting the app for.
I've submitted a video demo of the app to them via their support page [1], so here's to hoping they re-review and approve the extension. I'll post updates on my Twitter (https://twitter.com/patricksocha) and here and hopefully have some good news soon!
Looks great! I'm going to try it and let you know if I have any issues!
Fantastic, thank you! I've yet to properly launch, but any early feedback is really welcome ☺️
As promised, I've posted an update here. Google appologised for rejecting the extension and have asked me to resubmit. Fingers crossed.
