On my Calendly, I have a weekly open office time slot so anybody can schedule to chat with me. I also stated that I'd appreciate it if the person would buy me a coffee for appreciation of my time.
And there's one person who ridiculed me and said, "does this guy really expect others to buy him a coffee???"
Why not? First of all, it's optional, and I value my time. Second, I remember (ages ago) that when Yahoo! tried to win the auction market from eBay, they offered auction listings for free, while eBay charged listing fees. But it ends up that Yahoo!'s free strategy lands them tons of junk listings--cos it's free! Even when people put in a small commitment, they tend to value the return way more.
That shows my entrepreneur/engineering, or more appropriately, my "loser mindset" mindset 😂 , versus what my friend sent me today. Instead of "take," this person "gives." And the outcome? The result is way more successful!!!
