What do you call someone you hire to help you build a community? Not really to get sales but to build out a slack community with early stage founders which we will use to add value and get feedback from as we build our platform? Would it be growth hackers? Digital marketers? Community Managers? Where do I find these people
Who you hire from among those roles will depend on how mature your product is, your budget and what your growth goals are.
IMHO, Community Manager sounds fine and is the same title used by IH (hi @rosiesherry 🙂).
that makes a lot of sense thank you. Yeah idk where to find them as we are still early stage and would need someone on an ongoing basis as we develop our platform
Have you tried using freelancer marketplaces like Upwork.com or Fiverr?
You might even find someone willing to work with you on a retainer basis.
I'll ask but I don't want to spend a fortune on this, a monthly retainer would probably still cost me about $500/month lol
Haha 😁.
OK, in that case you could still work with the same freelancer but pay them for each task rather than a retainer, if retaining proves to be too expensive. Assuming of course their availability allows this arrangement.
Anyway, the good thing about these marketplaces is that your project brief and budget will largely determine the mix of bids you’ll receive from inexperienced and highly experienced freelancers alike. It’s totally okay to set expectations by stating your budget range e.g. $100 - $400 in your ad.
At one extreme, a project that is clear & pays $$$ will attract more experienced freelancers.
At the other extreme, a project that is poorly specced & offers a few $ will attract more inexperienced freelancers hoping to win their first or second gig. I’m assuming your needs will fall somewhere in the middle of these 2 extremes. Good luck!
