Earlier this week I was contacted via email by an investor from (what I later learned to be) a very prominent VC firm.
She said they are doing stuff in the headless ecommerce space, and have been following my project vendure.io, would I be open for a chat?
(So, I'm here on Indie Hackers right? My game plan is not "VC millions and then exit". But communication and building contacts can never hurt, so we scheduled a call.)
The call was brief - just giving some background on the project and talking about how many users etc. I could hear typing as I answered, and she'd often acknowledge my answer with a cryptic "that's helpful". I got the feeling my ambitions are too "lifestyle" (haha) for what they are looking for. Which is unashamedly true! She casually mentioned "we do seed funding, so anywhere from small checks like 1-2 million".
We concluded with "let's check back in 6 months". Let's see if by then I'm hungering for some sweet VC dollars, or whether I'm already on my way to my major goal of "I can take my family on a 1 week skiing holiday and feel calm about the cost" :D
