Creating content brings revenue and suffering: 8 Lessons to avoid burning out and unhappiness.

Creating content can bring revenue, but also suffering.

Uncertainty, sacrifices, and untangible results make you question if it's worth the effort.

So how can you make content without becoming miserable?

Comment doubts, thoughts, or feel free to DM them to me through Twitter @ MrNicolasForero

1/ You matter

Helping your audience is pointless if it makes you miserable.

Publish out of interest.

Not out of obligation

2/ You are not alone

Loneliness comes from our inability to communicate what we value.

Fortunately, the internet is full of people like you.

Simply hit the publish button.

3/ Your opinion matters

Listen, analyze, and care about feedback depending on the source.

Negative people will try to bring you down.

Their opinion < your opinion.

4/ Seek balance

Publish about:

  • What you like.
  • Traits you appreciate
  • What you know how to do.

5/ Control desire.

The thirst for metrics brings suffering.

Focus on the present and let time run.

Results will come.

6/ Why start in the first place?

Have a clear motivation to produce.

Each piece you publish is time taken from another activity.

What's the pot of gold that justifies doing it?

7/ It's ok to skip a day.

If 10 tweets are overwhelming, publish 5.

Or 2.

Or don't post at all.

Results won't come if you burn out.

8/ Change the content you consume

Your creation process is more enjoyable when it's aligned with what you like,
know, and value.

Take the time to know yourself before you try to be known by others.

9/ Next steps

If this brought value to your life, consider sharing this post or the Twitter thread version.

Your happiness matters.

Others' matters too.
