CrowdSec, an open-source, modernized & collaborative Fail2ban

Dear estimated community,

We would like to introduce a new security tool that we have been working on and collect your feedback. The solution, named CrowdSec is available on GitHub: https://github.com/crowdsecurity/crowdsec
It will remain open-source (MIT license) and free of charge.

In a nutshell, CrowdSec is able to parse logs from various data sources, normalize and enrich them before applying heuristic scenarios to identify aggressive behaviors and protect users from pretty much all types of attacks very easily. IPs identified as malicious are then shared with all CrowdSec users so they are also protected. The endgame is to leverage the power of the crowd to create a very accurate IP reputation database. As of today, community members come from 21 countries across 5 different continents.

We are looking for more users, contributors and ambassadors to take the project to the next level. We would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!

Have you identified useful Facebook groups where you can get more feedback for this? I've also seen some founders who got success in getting users for these types of products by answering relevant StackExchange questions.

Facebook is not really where our target audience is, we also posted on LinkedIn, Reddit, dev.to etc. Thanks for the tip, we'll look into StackExchange too!

Great idea, are you incorporating any of the free threat intel sources?

As soon as the enrichment process is made truly modular, we sure will! Which are the ones you would like to see most / for which usage?
