Curated Articles - Newsletter

I know I know another newsletter... but hear me out...What are your thoughts on a newsletter that focuses on a list of curated articles? A list of various topics with snippets underneath them.

I tend to be interested in a million different things. I'd rather be able to post about various topics then niche down to one specific topic. This just fits my personal style better.
What are your thoughts on this? Would it be something that could work depending on finding the right audience.

My newsletter is a range of things, but within that I do have some categories. But they are broad, so mine are : Clever Tools, Brain Food and Fun Stuff. This way I can put all sorts of things in but it’s still useful for people. I think you have to provide value.

I know what you mean though, I like lots of different things! I did do a lot of looking at what I liked and tried to categorize them to create some themes at least.

    Have a look if you’re interested- https://sparkedition.com/

    Good luck!

Super cool, thanks for this, it's exactly what I was contemplating.

Do you ever change topics are keep them the same?

I'll definitely check out your newsletter 😊

No worries. I haven't changed the categories yet. But it is something I have thought about. Sometimes it depends on the links I find, and what I find interesting. I think some of what makes your newsletter interesting is your point of view or enthusiasm for a topic.

There are times I've shared links in a newsletter and wondered how I can string them together, but then I think if I like it someone else might!

My newsletter is curated articles, videos, etc, on topics I am interested in. So I think it's a good idea :)

Great. In your experience thus far, what do your subscribers communicate to you? Any comments etc?

      1. 2

I'm still at the mostly friends & family stage. I've had some positive feedback via social media comments which I included as testimonials on the landing page. Otherwise the occasional "thanks for writing about this article, I found it really useful" reply.

Nothing wrong and fully support. Where can we see your curations so that we can give a more concrete feedback?

I'm running a semi-curated listing newsletter here. It would be amazing to hear your advice. @Paolo

      Hi @felix12777, I posted a sample here https://www.indiehackers.com/post/dopamine-hits-newsletter-bbd0e2a29c

In terms of feedback, I would spruce up the landing page (the very first page I saw).
Maybe add what your newsletter is about in more detail here.

You could even give away some type of PDF related to virtual events. This could be used as a good way to encourage signups. "Sign up and receive this pdf about..."

      Hope that helps

Thank you. Interesting way to combing through that number of articles. He mentions 'we' a few times I wonder if others are now reading articles, or helping with other tasks. Nonetheless, its an interesting way to digest info.
