Cut yourself some slack

Today was my second day trying to bootstrap a self-sustaining product business.

I was feeling quite confused about what I should be spending time on and which direction I should be moving as I really don't have much of a clue yet, and I was being hard on myself for "not being effective".

Then I realised, if a friend of mine would have started a new job and told me that they were feeling confused, I would have told them "Don't sweat it! You'll probably be confused for the first couple of weeks, but you'll get it sooner or later!".

Then it struck me.

Why do I not afford myself the same treatment?

This switch is even more than getting a new job, it's more akin to starting an entirely new career.

I should be even more compassionate and supportive towards myself, not less.

Maybe you should too?
