Daily Planner Assistant for Todoist

I'm already working on this, but apparently my product submission on IH is rejected because there's no MVP yet (marked as "incomplete"). Check out these links:

In sort, I'm trying to recreate AnyDo's planner feature for Todoist (and possibly other todo services as well, as long as the API is available).

Here's a screenshot of Any.Do (not mine):

Today I get overwhelmed my Todoist tasks. Wondering how to get around this, I remembered about AnyDo's Moment (a daily planner popup/notification that guide you to review tasks one by one) I really love a couple of years ago.

For a moment I'm thinking of going back to AnyDo, but I won't. AnyDo seems like a pretty closed platform compared to Todoist.

Then I give a quick read on Todoist Developer docs and finished a simple wrapper API in Python to verify that Todoist supports everything I need to make this idea happen.

It should be a mobile app (Android/iOS)

Some things/challenges to consider:

  • The UI/UX must be easy and delightful to use, as it's mean to relieve the burden of overwhelming tasks.
  • I'm not a very good frontend guy for the UI, but pretty confident UX-wise since I'm creating it for myself first.
  • I don't have an iOS dev experience, so the first mobile app I create will be for Android (is that a major turnoff?)
  • Thinking of adding smart reschedule feature in the future (like Todoist's)
  • Threat: it's depending entirely on 3rd party service (Todoist)

Comments and suggestions are welcome

EDIT: added a screenshot from AnyDo to clarify what I mean

How much do you like the idea?
  1. Awesome! Willing to pay subscription to use it
  2. Cool, One time purchase only please
  3. Nice, but will only use it if it's free
  4. Not sure, need to try it by myself to figure out
  5. I don't understand the idea
  6. Meh
