Artistic Value (Day 553)

It is the EDC weekend in Las Vegas. It usually happens in May, but this year it's been pushed to October due to COVID.

Totally due to my ignorance, I still couldn't grasp the value of a D.J. I can understand how a D.J. can crossfade songs from playlists seamlessly or produce some beats or remixes. But does that generate enough (artistic) value to justify that? Compared to songwriting and song arrangements--these tasks require way more skill, but what value does a D.J. bring really?
