Hi!
I have recently started working on a new product and I thought it would be cool to regularly create short blog posts to document my journey.
The product I'm working on is called WPLytic and it will be a WordPress Analaytics Plugin that stores all data directly in the WP database.
What I've done so far:
- Decided on the name: WPLytic and got the domain wplytic.com (name was chosen mostly based on the availability of domains)
- Created a new git repository for the project. The product will be based on userTrack but it will have a much simpler set of features and will be tighter integrated with WordPress.
- Hired someone to create the logo and branding sheet for WPLytic
Next steps:
- Finish implementing the actual product (by removing features from userTrack, simplifying the UI and using the WordPress user system instead of a separate login system).
- I expect to finish the product this weekend.
- I want to submit it to CodeCanyon asap as their CyberMonday campaign will be announced soon and I hope to get a featured spot in their campaign.
- Decide on the pricing and create the CodeCanyon presentation page/assets
Expect the next blog post after WPLytic is submitted to CodeCanyon! They do have an approval process, so I hope to get approved without any major changes required.
