Directory of Online Communities

I recently redesigned the landing page of Hive Index, a directory of online communities.

Still have to put something in the banner section (was thinking of adding like a scrolling feed of some on the top communities), but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Curious to hear what you guys think!

Hey, that's really cool. Appreciate if you can add https://makereconomics.com to the list. We're a Slack community of makers helping fellow makers reach financial freedom.

Neat community! I've listed it here. Let me know if you ever want to modify any of the copy on the page.

Looks really good. Easy to navigate around and search works well.

As a tangential question. I was wondering if you knew of any communities around health issues, say for stress or maybe stomach problems or maybe pain management. Places where they discuss potential non medicinal solutions? You have a category for mental health. I am looking for other health issues too. Any suggestions on where to find those communities?

Hey thanks! I don't have any of those kinds of communities curated yet, but I'll try to add some.

In the meantime, I used GummySearch to look for communities on reddit only and found a few for you:

      • Stress: r/Stress, r/Anxiety, r/StressManagement, r/ZenHabits
      • Stomach Issues: r/StomachProblems, r/medical_advice, r/ibs
      • Pain Management: r/ChronicPain, r/PainManagement, r/AskDocs

Hope that's helpful. If you want to dive deeper feel free to DM me on Twitter and I can help you find some specific conversations/advice threads on Reddit.

Thanks for those subreddits. Really useful.

I love this so much! I'm definitely bookmarking it as a resource.

Regarding the landing page itself, I think you made everything very, very clear. I'd just add some community search suggestions in the hero (from the 'Popular topics' section), just to get people going faster.

I'd also encourage people to submit their own community with a specific section because you'll really get much better results if Hive Index can include some other, lesser-known communities. Plus, community founders talk to each other so it's nice to get that free word-of-mouth.

Finally, I adore the manifesto below the hero section! I think it's a fantastic touch, and definitely something you could expand on.

    Awesome work!

Hi Fed, Hive Index looks great to me. Lot of efforts taken for curating it. Thanks.
