This will be a short entry. I have one message for all the founders - be physically active. Make at least that 7,500 steps a day. Exercise - you do not need any equipment to do some push-ups/ sit-ups. Go ride a bike. An hour-long walk 3 times a week does the trick as well.
Physical activity not only gives you enormous health benefits - it also lets you clear your mind, and lets you focus more in the long run.
I know it's hard to change your habits, believe me. For reasons, I mentioned some other times, I naturally have low reserves of physical energy. I decided to start playing tennis again/start power walking.
What are your stories?
+1! Most of us only really understand the importance of physical activity, once issues start to arise (back pain, getting sick frequently, etc).
I always try to break my day in the middle with a brisk walk, bike ride, etc. Does wonders for my energy levels too :)
100%. And it's even more critical when you're under a lot of stress and don't want to do it. That's exactly when it can provide the most benefit
Walking is such an underrated activity! I usually go for a 15-20 minute walk each morning or do some yoga instead. While I was still going to the office, I used to have a standing desk and alternate between standing and sitting every hour.
A good diet is equally important, I'd say, if not more. I try to eat as little processed food, cook most of my meals and practice intermittent fasting. Ben Greenfield's podcast is a goldmine of knowledge in this area!
I used to have severe stomach and some weight problems, and it all went away after having adopted a healthier lifestyle. Worth it!
For me, working out regularly is a habit. I always plan it into my day and make sure that I follow that plan. Otherwise, I would feel really off.
I have started working on my app Maxout with the goal to help more people planning their workouts
