Do things your way.

This post is inspired courtesy of Cards Against Humanity doing things their way. Whilst everyone else is shouting about their Black Friday deals. They are being themselves and doing things differently.

Cards Against Humanity Black Friday Text

The pressure is always there on how to go about indie hacking.

  • How do you know if you are doing it 'right'?
  • How can you get the results that you 'need'?
  • Are you covering all the bases?
  • Will it even make an impact?

Remind yourself that only you:

  • can validate your product
  • figure out pricing that works
  • find the growth strategies that bring results
  • decide on the culture and direction of your thing
  • know what will keep you motivated and healthy to keep going

Of course, always seek to learn from people, books, courses, podcasts, and communities. Whatever works. But remember, the best learning out there is experience: your experience, not someone else's.

Take bits that apply to you and your context. And seek to be proudly you, and proudly different. The most inspiring businesses are the ones that seek to be authentic.

By being you, you find the confidence to create something different.

From experience, this is easier said than done. You'd be surprised at how many 'societal' layers you need to peel off to discover who you really are.
