Do you often improve/rewrite old blog content?

I've been blogging for 2.5 years now. I always use tools like ubersuggest, semrush to find new keywords and write blog post for it.

Recently, i revamped one of the old blogs based on the google search console impression/clicks. it got lot of impression but only fewer clicks. After improving it, traffic spiked up for that specific blog.

I wanted to know how often do you guys revamp the old blog articles?. How do you guys use search console to find which blog to revamp?. (i find search console difficult to use) Any better tool available to visualize google search console data?

    YES!

I started a Costa Rica blog with a friend about 5 years ago. For about a year, each of us wrote one article per week. After about 20 months we saw about 8000 monthly views. At this point I asked myself "what would happen if we keep doing what we do?"... the answer was very disappointing.

At this point, I went back and analyzed some of my other projects and realized that my biggest success newer came from "more and new" content, but from making existing content better.

The next couple of months we only wrote one new post per month and instead put our time in older posts. The result: The traffic jumped to over 50k views, and even more during traveling season.

Disclaimer: My site is in German and traffic is generally lower than for similar topics in English. Also, numbers are pre-pandemic, when people were interested in traveling to Costa Rica ;-)
