Don't do this when reaching out to prospects or "influencers" for reviews!

As I've been working on building SUALVI, (which is about helping people with an editing program (DaVinci Resolve) ) I have received a good amount of emails from other companies trying to get me to reviews their products.

First of all, receiving a random email from an unknown company already takes out points. So, before you reach out to someone, at least interact a bit with their content so they see your name before and are able to recognize it.

  All the emails I got were something like this:
  • "Hey! We have been following your content for a while (no they haven't) and we love what you have been creating. We would love for you to take a look at our product and make a review about it"

Now, if you start your email with something that has a higher chance of being a lie, do you think a creator that doesn't know about you will trust you?

I don't want to make this too long, but if you are thinking of reaching out to people to review your product, try to take a more transparent approach to how you reach out to people that might not know about you.

Ideally you want to at least engage a bit with them beforehand so that you also know if they would be a good fit for you.


I am not saying that the first approach won't work at all, but as time evolves people start to catch up with these type of practices.
