DownToTrade : A Platform for "Garage Stock Traders" to share their trades.

Hello Fellow Indie Hackers,

I have been learning so much from this community over the past couple months and the fight to build something real and useful is ongoing :)

Over the past couple years I have been extremely discouraged by the quality of financial reporting in the world. It is clear to me that chasing SEO rankings is the main purpose of every media outlet today resulting in abominably bad reporting.

Due to this, it's been a hard task figuring out how to invest, trade and grow money. I have a couple friends that I discuss these things with but I have been yearning for a community (very much like the community that we have here) that would share their stock trading strategies, experiences and mistakes with each other. I have looked far and wide for places online that would give me a chance to connect with fellow stock investing hobbyists but the only places I find are run by investing pundits who run "trading chat rooms" that turn out to be pretty one sided.

So as to solve my own itch, I created Down To Trade - A community for stock trading hobbyist trading from home, looking to find other people to discuss the markets.

If you made it all the way down here I thank you for reading my post, and would really appreciate any feedback on my idea, design etc.

Happy Hacking :-)

I always love seeing others building communities.

Do you have a long term vision for it?
And what did you use to build it?

    1. 1

My vision is to give people a space to talk about their investing and trading in a way which is fun and constructive.
Long term Im not sure as of now. I'll take a call based on the feedback that i receive

The front end is a react app on netlify. The backend is a node app on heroku.
