Facebook Ads for B2B SaaS?

I've been running some Google Ads for my SaaS product which targets other mobile app developers, product managers, mobile support teams etc. So far I've been targeting very niche specific keywords and this has been working with some success. The main problem is that the level of people searching for these keywords is very low. I can't even spend my super low daily budget in full.

Naturally, I am in search of other avenues to target these same folks that may not already know about my product.

Is anyone using Facebook Ads for these type of B2B SaaS use cases or do they mainly only work for B2C? I'd love to hear about anyone's experience with this sort of targeting!

As FB gathers more conversion signals, you can also test broad targeting. The algorithm is quite smart and can drive cheaper conversions this way.

Thanks for the reply! How broad would be recommended? Should I be trying to find some Facebook interests to indicate that people are mobile developers or something like that?

Surprisingly - broad with no targeting at all tends to work. I think how this works is that FB serves impressions to everyone, and very quickly understands the target audience you're going after based on CTR, CVR. The creative (ad) serves as the audience filter.

Very cool, thanks so much for the tip. I will have to try this out!

No worries! Just make sure to give FB sometime to collect signals first before running on broad targeting.

Amazing to hear you're seeing results using your targeting method, this means you could be onto something once you start scaling FB Ads

You'll want to learn about Lookalike Audiences, they are created automatically by Facebook based on users who 'look like' your existing audience.

If you have an existing userbase, you can simply upload them as a "Custom Audience" named "Past customers", then create a lookalike audience, then run ads to it

There's so much more beyond this, but lookalike audiences will get your mind thinking of all the ways you can create them (for instance, top 20% best customers only)

Thanks so much for the reply! Since my product is largely B2B that means most people sign up using their business email address. Would a lookalike audience still be effective in this case or would Facebook largely be unable to match these business emails up to their actual user base?

With facebooks 1 billion users your clients are most likely on the site. Facebook uses more than just email but also cookies, devices etc to match people

The only true way to tell is to start a campaign and see what the match is
