Feedback for Hikemark

Hi Indie Hackers!
Today I hope to get some feedback for my Page.

3 years ago I went hiking on the Appalachian Trail and wanted to have a visual representation on my "blog", how far I've hiked. This was just so my friends and family could follow me, without me posting in several chat groups spread over multiple platforms. After my hike I thought this might be something to test other long distance hikers would be interested in. Some personally rough years later, emotional valleys and thankfully recently some heights as well, I started to work on this idea again.
Unfortunately the hiking season will be severely impacted by COVID, I still hope to test the waters and get some prospective users and the word out.

I'm unsure whether the idea comes across on the landing page. The design is still very rough, I tried to focus more on implementing the basic functionality so people can just go ahead and play around with it. The entry hurdle is as low as it can get. At least I hope so :). No signup needed, no email, no password.

I probably want to include more details on how the quota system works and my pricing amount. Would you consider that vital on the landing page?

Well, let me know what you think!
Looking forward to any input.

Thank you so much.

This looks great, Ariana! Great idea.

Some suggestions, instead of "Share your location on the trail!" how about something like, "Share you hiking story." Since you do allow people to post messages along the hike.

Also, how about the ability to add pictures along with the log.

On the homepage, you mention that people can embed their logs. So, why not embed a sample log so people can see a real live example?

Instead of graphics, include screenshots of the app in action in the "Embedding" and "Sharing" sections.

I noticed that after I click "Get Started" I have to click the back button twice to get back to the homepage. Could be a bug.

    Hope this helps.

    ALl the best!

Hey, thanks a for your feedback.

I especially like your idea about replacing the pictures with actual samples of the app in usage.

Adding pictures to the logs is something I thought about and probably will work on. I'm a little bit worried about it might get misused.

The double back button is definitely a bug. thanks for testing :-) I always used the About link instead. Good to have another person trying it out.
