First Viral Post on Twitter - Takeaways

I have had a Twitter account for years.

Mostly dormant.
Always used to consume content.

Until recently, I decided to post content instead and ramp up my Tweet activity.

The main purpose of posting often is to build credibility and provide information people would be interested in.

Yesterday, I quoted a re-tweet that resonated with a niche group. A group that will hate getting back to the 8-5 work schedule as referred to by a classic Disney short.

Impressions: 10,114
Total Engagements: 157
Profile Clicks: 72

As a novice, these were big metrics for me.

Here are some takeaways about wrangling Twitter:

- Say NO to getting into heated debates about politics. Neither side will cave in, and you would have just burned precious time arguing. Use Twitter as a business development tool, not as a soap box to hammer debates.

- Images included in a Tweet appear to have the best engagement levels. Typically 20% higher than with text only.

- Engage with those of like minded industries and always add value to the conversation. It's ok to disagree with a Tweet, but never belittle and remember to do no harm.

- Have your profile ready with photo, clear description, and link to landing page. You never know who will be lurking with great opportunities.

Hope it helps!

Here is the Tweet.

Is there any formula to make the post go viral and do hashtags work?

    Nice.

How many new followers did you get from this?
