Focusing on Announcr, and moving Magnus Rush (Interactive Podcasts) to the back burner

I've decided that CX and messaging for small businesses is a much more attractive opportunity to pursue than interactive podcasts at this time. It's what I want to put my time into. I still use Magnus Rush every day so it get some small improvements, but it's going to hold and gel for awhile while I focus on Announcr.

This is something I alluded to at the beginning of the summer while I was exploring Announcr, and quickly over the last few months my focus became clear.

Coupla main reasons:

  1. Magnus Rush as a podcasting app is a bit buggy, but feature complete. The podcast analytics side is really awesome but probably overkill for most podcasters who don't really care about using numbers and analytics to up their game. In the end, the feature I use the most is voice recording during a podcast so I can take notes. Those get transcribed and emailed to me. I am disappointed I could never get traction on the podcast creation side, as it would be incredibly useful to have links to books, products, guests, and other podcasts that get mentioned, but maybe some of the entity detection routines I use will improve over time and offer better automation for this.
  2. The market size for Announcr is dramatically higher than podcasts
  3. I can probably make Magnus Rush work as a podcast host platform, but then I'd need to go up against some strong competition, and at least one small team which I really like and respect, whereas I can do Announcr on my own/with a small team. And running a podcast host platform is not something I was ever really interested in. I still don't feel interested in it.
  4. In success, Announcr would be life changing. Magnus Rush would be, at best, some extra lifestyle income.

I learned a LOT building MR and I'm super proud of what I made. The platform has some innovative features I don't see anywhere else.

So I am going to keep everything nice and tight and may explore selling the MR platform, but for now it's not going to get any more attention while I focus on Announcr.
